Kaurna Acknowledgement

Niina Marni. As we feel the earth beneath us, the wind around us and the sun above us, we acknowledge the Kaurna people, the traditional owners of this land. We pay our respects to past Elders and will work with present and emerging Elders to protect and care for this unique land of ours. We also extend this respect to other First Nations peoples.
Principal's Welcome

Dear Parents, students and families,
Welcome back to 2025, a year that will no doubt be exciting and engaging.
We welcome 60 new Receptions and an additional 55 learners from Years 1-6 to our vibrant community on the first day of school for 2025 - Tuesday 28th January.
I remind you that yard supervision at Linden Park Primary School begins at 8:35am each morning. This ensures that your children are safe and supervised before the school day officially starts. The school day commences with the bell at 8:50am, so please ensure your children arrive in time to settle in and prepare for a productive day of learning.

Site Learning Plan - Strengthening our learners
Our Site Learning Plan will have a strong focus on Wellbeing in response to our Wellbeing & Engagement data. As a school we are still committed to maintain the rigour of academic excellence but acknowledge the importance of developing our learners’ resilience so that they can navigate the challenges in a world of ever-increasing change. Wellbeing is one of the four Areas of Impact of the Public Education Strategy that guides the work of all public schools.
Relationships are key!
We recognise the importance and power of establishing positive and respectful relationships right from the beginning of the year. All classes will engage in the SEEK Week program, designed to form the essential agreements which build connections and guide the expectations for all members of a class. SEEK, (Social, Emotional, Education and Kindness) Week enables students and staff to get to know each other in a purposeful way, exploring self and social -awareness and management skills.
NDIS Service Providers
To enable staff and students to establish the relationships and learning routines that will support them to learn and thrive over the course of the year, external service providers are not scheduled to start therapy/sessions until Week 3 of the school year. This enables time for the required service agreements to be established, personnel checks to be completed and scheduling to take place.
The partnership between external service providers is one that school values in meeting a child’s needs but is based on mutual understanding and respect rather than expectation and demand. Space for service providers to work is at a premium, given we are restricted in the spaces available for therapists to work and meet the requirements around duty of care.
Change of Yard Duty placement
After review of the after-school supervision at the end of day, we are relocating a member of staff to monitor the exit outside of the gym away from the left-hand side of Highfield Avenue. The Gym gate has a significant number of children who are often waiting for extended periods of time. The Primary playground remains out of bounds.
The Highfield Avenue duty was originally located to supervise Durham Avenue when this was used as a collect point. The school crossing on Highfield Avenue will be supervised with crossing monitors; any children not collected from Highfield at the end of the duty at 3:25 will be escorted to the office as is current practice.
Uniform Shop
The School Uniform Shop will be open at the following times in 2025.
Week One, Term One 2025

Wednesday 29th January - 8am to 9.15am and 2.30pm to 3.45pm

School Parking
A reminder to all parents/carers - when dropping off and picking up students the No Parking (kiss and drop off zones) are for parents to park, help their children out of the vehicle and then move on quickly to allow the next person to do the same.
If you wish to walk your child into the school, you must not park in this area. Please see the following brochure 'Parking in Burnside' for more information.
